Philosophy of life

Traditional rituals

The women draw beautiful rangoli in form of floral designs, as an auspicious mark of the festivity, on the space just outside their homes. The main entrance, doors and windows of houses as well as shops are decorated with strings of fresh green mango leaves called thorana. According to a mythical legend stating that Lord Ganesh, god of wealth and prosperity, is fond of mango leaves, this tradition signifies good harvest and good health. The people visit temples to seek divine blessings for health, wealth, success and prosperity in the New Year.

చైత్రమాసం శుక్లపక్షంలో సూర్యోదయ సమయంలో పాడ్యమి తిథి ఉన్న  రోజును  ఉగాది పండుగగా  పరిగణిస్తారు.

ఉగాది పండుగ నాడు సూర్యోదయానికి ముందే నిద్రలేచి శాస్త్రవిధిగా నువ్వులతో తలంటుకుని, నువ్వు పిండితో ఒంటికి నలుగు పెట్టుకుని, కుంకుడుకాయ రసంతో తలస్నానం చేస్తారు.  తిలకధారణ, నూతన వస్త్రాల ధారణ తరువాత భగవంతుడిని పూజించాలి. పూజ అయిన తరువాత పెద్దల దీవెనలను పొందడం, దేవాలయాల సందర్శనం చేస్తే పుణ్యఫలములు చేకూరుతాయి.

ఉగాది పచ్చడి షడ్రుచుల సమ్మేళనం, వేప పువ్వు చేదు, మామిడి పిందె వగరు, కొత్త బెల్లం తీపి కొత్త చింతపండు పులుపు, పచ్చి మిర్చికారం, ఉప్పు. ఉదయాన్ని  ముందుగా  ఈ పచ్చడి  తినడము తెలుగు వారి సామ్ప్రదాయమ్. హోలీ పండుగకు కూడా మామిడి పిందెలు తినాలి అని  ఉండడము మనము గమనిస్తే ఆ కాలములో వచ్చే కాయలను పండులను తినడము ఆరోగ్యానికి మంచిది అని మనకు పెద్దలు చెప్పినట్టు గ్రహించవచ్చు.

ఉగాది పండుగ దినాన భద్రాద్రి శ్రీరామ చంద్రమూర్తిని పూజించడం ద్వారా సకల సౌభాగ్యాలు చేకూరుతాయని ఆద్యాత్మిక గురువులు అంటున్నారు. శ్రీరాముని ఆరాధన, శ్రీ మద్రామాయణ పారాయణ చేయడం ద్వారా సకల సంతోషాలు ప్రాప్తిస్తాయని నమ్మకం. శ్రీ మద్రామాయణ పారాయణ శ్రీ రామనవమి వరకు చెయ్యచ్చు అని కూడా మనము అన్వయిన్చుకోవచ్చును.

గృహ ప్రవేశం

గృహప్రవేశం జరుగుతున్నది. జోరుగా మంగళవాయిద్యాలు మ్రోగుతున్నాయి. ఆ వూరిలో ప్రముఖుడైన రాజకీయ నాయకుడి గృహప్రవేశం. ఇల్లు భారీగా అందంగా కట్టించారు. ఆర్భాటంగా గృహప్రవేశం ఏర్పాట్లు చేశాడు. పసందైన వంటకాలతో విందు భోజనం ఏర్పాటు చేశాడు అతిథులకు. అతిథులు అందరూ విచ్చే స్తున్నారు. అందరి చేతుల్లో ఏదో ఒక బహుమతి కనిపిస్తున్నది. అవి అందుకుని కొందరు రాసుకుంటున్నారు యిచ్చినవారి పేర్లు, బహుమతులు అందుకుని ఒక వరుసలో సర్దుతున్నారు. కొంచెం సంకోచంగా రాముడు అక్కడికి వచ్చాడు. ఇంటి ఎదురుగా వ్ఞన్న ఖాళీస్థలంలో విందు ఏర్పాట్లు జరిగాయి. జనం విరగబడ్డారు.

గృహప్రవేశంలో సత్యనారాయణ వ్రతం చేసుకోనడం అనవాయితీగా వస్తున్నది. వచ్చిన అతిథులు ఆ దేవదేవ్ఞడిని దర్శించి, నైవేద్యం అర్పించి ప్రసాదం తీసుకొంటున్నారు. చిరుద్యోగి రాముడు కూడ లోపలికి వచ్చి నిండుగా కొలువైన ఆ సత్యనారాయణస్వామిని దర్శించి నమస్కరించి అక్షతలు తీసుకుని స్వామి వారిమీద జల్లి సాష్టాంగ నమస్కారం చేసుకున్నారు. భుజంగరావ్ఞ భార్య గంగమ్మ స్వయంగా తీర్థ ప్రసాదాలు ఇస్తుంది. రాముడికి కూడ తీర్థం యిచ్చి ప్రసాదం అందించింది.

రాముడు వాటిని స్వీకరించి, నీటితో చేతు లు కడుకున్నాడు. ఒకచోట భుజంగరావ్ఞ వచ్చిన వారిని కడుపార తినిపొమ్మని చెబుతున్నాడు. రాముడు అతనిని దర్శించి తను తెచ్చిన బహుమానం అతని చేతికిచ్చాడు. భుజంగరావ్ఞ రంగుల కాగితంలో చుట్టబడిన ఆ వస్తువ్ఞను చూసి ఏమిటిది అని అడిగాడు రాముడిని. ఇది ఒక స్ఫటిక లింగం. నిత్యపూజకు పనికివస్తుంది. అని చెప్పాడు. మొహం చిట్లించి దాని ని అందుకుని నిర్లక్ష్యంగా అక్కడున్న గంపలోకి గిరాటు పెట్టాడు. రాముడి మనస్సు చివ్ఞక్కుమంది. దానిని కొనడానికి తనకు ఎన్నోకష్టాలు పడవలసి వచ్చింది. కొన్ని ఖర్చులు త్యాగం చేయ వలసి వచ్చింది.

పెద్దల దగ్గరికి వచ్చేటప్పుడు ఇంత అల్ప కానుకలు తెస్తావా? పోయి భోంచేసి పో! భుజంగరావ్ఞ కొంచెం విసుగుతో చెప్పాడు. ఆయన స్థాయికి అది అల్పం కావచ్చు కాని, అది తనకు తలకుమించిన భారమే అయింది అని బాధపడ్డాడు. రాముడుకు భోంచేయబుద్ధి కాలేదు. తినకుండానే వెళ్ళిపోయాడు. కొన్ని సంవత్సరాలకు రాముడు చిన్న స్వంత ఇల్లు కట్టుకోగలి గాడు. ఆర్థిక పుష్ఠి లేకపోవడం వలన తనకు పరిచయమైన వారందరిని పిలవకుండా కేవలం ముఖ్యలు అను కున్న వారిని పిలిచాడు.

అయినా తన అంచనాలకు మించి జనం వచ్చారు. ఒకసారి వండిన వంటలు అయిపోతే రెండోసారి వండుతున్నారు. రాజకీయనాయకుడు భుజంగరావు అట్టహాసంగా తనవెంట ఓ పాతిక మందిని వెంట బెట్టుకుని వచ్చాడు ఆ గృహప్రవేశానికి. రాముడు ఎదురు వెళ్ళి సాదరంగా ఆహ్వానిం చాడు. అందరిని లోనికి తీసుకువచ్చి దైవ దర్శనం చేయించి తన భార్యతో తీర్థ ప్రసాదాలు యిప్పించాడు. చాలా సంతోషం గురువ్ఞగారు! అందరూ భోజనం చేసి వెళ్ళండి. ఏదో మాకున్నం తలో వండుతున్నాం!

మీ స్థాయికి సరిపడా లేక పోయినా నా యందు దయుంచి భోంచేయండి! అని ప్రార్థించాడు రాముడు. భుజంగరావ్ఞ తన అనుయాములతో కూడ కలిసి భోజనం చేశాడు. వంకాయకూర, గోంగూర పచ్చడి, దోసకాయ పప్పు, ఉల్లిపాయ సాంబారు, చిత్రాన్నం, లడ్డు, బూంది, మిరపకాయ బజ్జీ వగైరా ఆధరుచులతో భోజనం ముగించాడు. వెళుతూ వెళుతూ రాముడును కలిశాడు భుజంగరావ్ఞ ‘భోజనం బాగుందో§్‌ు! ఇల్లు బాగా కట్టావ్ఞ. నీకు బహుమతి కొనాలి అనుకున్నాను. కాని సమయం సరిపోలేదు.

ఏమీ అనుకోవద్దు నిజానికి డబ్బు ఖర్చు చేయడం యిష్టంలేక ఏ బహుమతి కొన డానికి ప్రయత్నించలేదు. అలాగే ఆ కార్యక్రమానికి రాకూడదను కున్నాడు కాని అనుకోకుండా అతనిమిత్రులు అతని గ్రామం నుండి పనిమీద ఆయనను కలుసుకోవడానికి వచ్చారు. వారికి బయట భోజన ఏర్పాట్లు చేస్తే చాలా ఖర్చు అవ్ఞతుందని అందరిని ఇక్కడి గృహప్రవేశానికి పట్టుకువచ్చాడు ఆ లోభి. ఎంతమాట! మీరు రామడమే మాకు పెద్ద బహుమతి. ఒం టరిగా రాకుండా బంధుమిత్ర సపరివారంగా వచ్చి ఆనందం కలి గించారు. మీ రాకే మాకుపెద్ద ఆశీర్వాదం. దానియందు ఏ బహుమతి సాటిరాదు. అంటూ కాళ్లు మొక్కాడు రాముడు.భుజంగరావుకు మనసు చివుక్కుమంది.
