Ramanujacharya was a Mahanite who gave a proper meaning to the Vedas and spread the greatness of Vishishtadvaita to the world. Thousands of years after his death, his body is still preserved.
The importance of Hinduism in India is very significant. We find dazzling temples in every state. Srirangam is a town located in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. It is said that Lord Vishnu incarnated in the Srirangam Temple, one of the famous Vaishnava shrines. Built with seven walls, the temple has many specialties at every step. The most notable of them is the body of Sri Ramanujacharya.
Although more than a thousand years have passed since the ascension of Sri Ramanujacharya, his body is still preserved here. However, it is unfortunate that many devotees are not aware of this. Although some visit the temple of Ramanujacharya in the 4th wall of Srirangam, they do not realize that what is there is his divine body.
Ramanuja left his body here while sitting in a yoga posture in the Padmasana. The body is still visible in that sitting posture. Twice a year a festival is held for him. At that time camphor and saffron flower are applied in a lump to the body of Noori Ramanuja. Hence his body shines like an idol in a red color. However, we can clearly see his eyes and nails while giving the horticulture. The saffron flower ointment does not dye there so they look even brighter in horticultural lights.
The best of Ramanujacharya: Ramanuja was born in the year 1017 AD in Sriperumbudur (Bhoothapuri), 25 km from the city of Chennai. Ramanuja, who lived for almost 123 years, made special efforts to propagate the Visishtadvaita doctrine. He spent half of his life in the fields of Srirangam and Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu.
Is the idol of Kaliyuga deity Thirumala Venkateswara Swamy in the form of Vishnu? In the form of Shiva? Ramanujacharya resolved the disputes between the Vaishnavism and the Shaivites. This problem was easily solved when Thirumala Swami kept the conical wheels in their womb and when the whites saw Swami wearing them they were seen. Ramanujacharya also decided on the daily handicrafts and services of Thirumala Venkateswara.
The Ashtakshari Mukti mantra, which is limited to a few, is heard on the roof of the Thirukottiyur temple. Rejecting the claims that he would go to hell if this mantra was proclaimed publicly, he was dismayed. He proposed the concept of equality, coexistence and equality. He pioneered many great reforms in Hinduism.
Unpopular secret: Ramanujacharya left his body in Srirangam between the 11th - 12th centuries AD. Since then special ointments have been smeared to protect his body. However, the popularity of this place was unmatched by the divine body of Ramanujacharya in Srirangam. That is why it remains a secret known to very few.
